Coming up

OK, long and far between on here. But I haven't spent so much time in front of a pc with nothing else to do. On the contrary. There is something called correcting...But here's an effort. We are in May now and the weather is still cold but it is light and the birches opened on Saturday. Typical Norwegian fashion, all of a sudden the hillsides are pale grren and not just dark. It gives a feeling of new life in an oldish body, too. The choir sang in Oslo and I was a bit disappointed with our performance. Alright, Sunday morning pressed together in a dusty organ loft doesn't exactly lend itself to a professional,concentrated effort, but some of my friends must concentrate more on what they are doing. The choir says it wants to take a step up in quality but it doesn't seem to want to do what it takes. The trip to trondheim will be a measure of where we are. I have a feeling of being in a competition, concentration and exact singing are what are required in a situation where the acoustics can reveal every tiny mistake. I hope they all realise this. The conductor tis the right man for the job, I hope the choir is right for the job as well.

There may be a lack of pictures on here, one reason being that I can't work out how to upload them. But this must change. Wednesday week will be the start of my trip to Switzerland and the Rhätische Bahn. Can't write this in English, it seems stupid. This is a trip I have wanted to do for a good while and friends who know have said it will be great. We are booked into hotels in Chur and Zermatt as well as on the best trains with the best restaurants. It should be fantastic if the weather keeps up so we can see the views of the Alps as we crawl along on metre guage track and eat and drink the very best. Expensive in some ways but surprisingly cheap in others. Pictures are a must. I may even buy a new camera...could do with one.

A bit iffy as to what I will be doing at school over the next few days what with the third years and their "russ". What an untranslatable that is as well. Will they turn up for lessons and if they do, what will they do? Will they be awake at all? Remains to be seen. I suppose I must just prepare something or other more or less useful and see what happens. So here goes...
