History in the making?

Friday morning, twenty past seven, sitting at my desk in Kongsberg, river outside, frosty and clear skies. The day looks promising. I'm tired after an evening in Oslo where a meal at a Jap restaurant with stimulating company gave me wind and a bad night. Today is the day two experts come in to my class to follow up the VIP session we held on Monday. A asked me yesterday whether I had dropped this. I couldn't understand her. I have dropped lessons both in my class and in others today to get this on the rails in as sensible way as I can and then get asked this question. She said she had been asked by someone (no names) because I had left the VIP meeting the other week before it was finished. What is the matter with these people? Some sort of inferiority complex? Maybe they need a bit of help. I will have to find them some expert to talk to. I will speak to the two who are turning up this morning and tell them what I think. I had two other meetings to go to at the time, both announced before the VIP meeting. And I organised getting all the necessary paperwork. Enough of being miffed now? I think so.

Good to talk yesterday. The problems in the choir looked smaller after chatting with M2 about them. M2 put things more in perspective. But I am still far from convinced.

I'm looking forward to the weekend, following news stories and going out with Kev. Mugabe looks like taking over Zimbabwe in a coup d'etat. It's like stepping back in time but I don't expect anyone will do anything about it. After all, Zimbabwe isn't sitting on top of an oil reservoir so who cares about human rights or democracy? There's the Chinese performance and the olympics to posture about isn't there? They're all black anyway! It's situations like this that reveal so much of the hypocricy in international politics. It makes me sick. I hope I am proved wrong by events this weekend.
