Vote? For what?

Newcastle are top of the league. OK, the season has just started but to beat Leicester with no recognised front men is an achievement which says something about the character of the side. And it makes me feel good.
It's raining again today, nothing new there, but at least it's warm and it was fun to see Per Carsten's three month old setter puppy playing with Robin on the grass by the river. Pity it will be covered in snow in a couple of months.
The election campaign goes on, ignored by a lot of people I sspect, including me. Not having a vote makes it easy, and the parties...so many of them...make a lot of noise about not very much. It is all very confusing and reminds me of the "keep your eye on the ball" maxim. What do they stand for rather than what are they promising. There must be a democratic problem with a system which lets parties promise anything their imagination can think up well knowing that they need not follow it up if they gain power. The election decides very little, it is the talking between the parties who make up a majority which is the power bit. Senterparti makes a lot of noise about extirminating wolves and can feel safe because everybody knows that is what they have to say and they will never be in a position to do anything about it. Posturing is one thing, position is everything. Kristin Halvorsen's promise to abolish poverty which she has been forced to retract and apologise for is a stupid example, stupid in the sense that it was a stupid thing to promise. Like "we will all go to heaven when we die if we vote SV". Even in government, she did nothing to abolish poverty. Happy birthday tomorrow Kristin, I was born a few years before you but we share our birthday. No, I'm looking forward to the General Election in Britrin due in the Spring. You vote for a party and if they win, you get what you voted for. Anfd Mr Brown will be getting the order of the boot I very much hope!!
