Euphoria

At last...or as John says, the result of the season. 4 - 1 against Spurs in London, and Newcastle were all over them. The third goal was reminiscent of KK's first reign at St.James' Park. The ball moved quickly across the area and Michael Owen slotted it in. And the other chances were brilliant too which just shows that KKs effect seems to be getting through and that John is right. Rang home to Dad. He starts on about not getting through, operators and wrong numbers. Forget all that, I could write my number in spray box paint across his sitting room wall and he still wouldn't get it. But what does that matter today! He isn't well he says, and I'm sure he isn't, but he could just do with some cheering up. This result should help.

It's been peeing down all day, plenty of time to get some correcting done and catch up on preparation, not least for tomorrow's amateur psychology lessons in 1 STE. And an engaging mail from M2 who is very interested in making one or two things clear as to a relationship with me. There have been enough flashing red lights to warn me that that isn't a good idea but I must clearly be careful about what I say in future so as not to be misunderstood. I hope she sorts herself out and she seems to be doing so.

Some Michelet woman (no, not Else) was on the radio the other evening waxing lyrical about the new racism she called Islamophobia. I felt like a nazi when she had finished. Her opinions were totally absurd and people like her, who stamp anybody who expresses any doubt about immigration from muslim countries, are doing themselves and their cause no good whatsoever. In fact, she annoyed me so much that I turned the radio off! Not like me. But she reminded me of the AKP gospel preachers of the seventies. She probably was one! There is no reflection as to what people think, which means no respect for people. Her doctrine is the only right one and anybody who has personal experience which forms a contrary opinion is written off as a racist. OK, call me a racist. People with doctrine are dangerous, be they anti-abortionists, free-immigrationists, marxists or mullahs. We must fear them and isolate them before they take on too much disproportionate power.

The rain falls on, not correct English perhaps but a suitable description. I'm looking forward to tomorrow' school, even though it is not what I had been expecting. Choir practice in the evening. I am not looking forward to that.
